About CCSD
The
Cooperative Research Centre for Coal in Sustainable Development
(CCSD) is one of 64 Cooperative Research Centre’s (CRCs)
established and supported through the Australian Government’s
Cooperative Research Centre’s Program. CRCs are devoted
to strengthening collaborative links between industry, research
organisations and government agencies to achieve real outcomes
of national, economic and social significance.
CCSD commenced operations on 1 July 2001 and is an unincorporated joint venture
consisting of eighteen participating organisations from the black coal producing
and using industries and research organisations in Queensland, New South Wales
and Western Australia. CCSD’s vision is to optimise the contribution of
coal to a sustainable future and it will invest $61 million over a seven-year
period in pursuit of this goal.
