Power Station Emissions Handbook

Welcome to the CCSD EMISSIONS HANDBOOK.

The purpose of this handbook is to provide industry practitioners with a comprehensive source of information on emissions from coal utilisation. The product is designed to draw on information from both CCSD research and the vast resources available on the world wide web. It provides operators of coal-fired power stations and other stakeholders with a resource to understand:

  • The nature of power station emissions to the atmosphere
  • The potential environmental impacts arising from those emissions
  • Policy and regulatory responses
  • Assessment methodologies
  • Measurement and reporting protocols
  • Techniques and technologies to control emissions and mitigate impacts.

The content for this online resource was developed under the leadership of Prof. Peter Nelson, CCSD’s Project Leader on Emissions from Current Power Generation and Waste Management.  Peter is also Head of the Graduate School of the Environment at Macquarie University. The Research Team includes: Dr. Hao Nguen and Mr. Hugh Malfroy.

The Centre is greatful to several Industry participants who provided a review and comment on the development of the product.

We trust that you will find this a useful resource and look forward to your advice and feedback that may be provided by completing the form below.
