Over several years CCSD and the Australian Coal Association Research Program (ACARP) funded the development of new thermodynamic databases and models that may be used to predict the phase equilibria for major oxides found in coal ash. This report documents the research that delivered the databases that are used with the FactSage computer program. FactSage is commercial software that provides a facility to undertake fundamentally-based thermodynamic calculations. This capability is necessary in order to develop and optimise current and future coal utilisation technologies.
