This report examines the effects of mineral matter in coal on slagging gasification technology. It provides a summary of the science with respect to slag flow, slag-refractory interactions and slag stability and disposal. The review is confined to coal slags in entrained flow slagging gasification and does not address the similar issues in other processes such as slags in metallurgy or fly ash in conventional boilers. |
