Summary:

This report documents Centre research on the carbon dissolution of a number of Australian cokes in molten iron and the role of factors influencing the carbon dissolution reaction. It investigates the mechanisms of carburising hot metal at relatively low temperatures to demonstrate the suitability of Australian coking coals for sustainable ironmaking.
