TA 77 - Techno-Economics of Oxygen-fired Pf Power Generation with CO2 Capture

Type:

Technology Assessments Report

Author(s):

Doug Palfreyman, Aaron Cottrell, Peter Scaife, Louis Wibberley

Summary:

The study gives a technical assessment for oxygen pf, based on a hypothetical ultra-supercritical plant and a detailed techno-economic assessment of retro-fit options for the proposed oxy-pf demonstration plant at Callide A. The study focuses on oxygen production and CO2 capture technologies suitable for oxy-pf, to identify trade-offs between lower cost/lower purity oxygen, and the capture process based on flue gas liquefaction. It summarises process modelling and other assessments undertaken and reported to the Oxy-fuel Work Group (OFWG), to provide an appendix section for the Stage 1 report from the OFWG in June 2005.
