Transitional Power GenerationObjectives | Deliverables | Project List | Program Leader | Current Publications ObjectivesThis program will investigate barriers and issues related to greenhouse gas emissions abatement and other environmental risk factors associated with alternative power generation technologies over the next 5 to 15 years. These will include gasification technologies, fluidised bed technologies, methane capture and large additions of biomass. Input from the economic, social and environmental assessment program will enable options to be fully assessed. The research program will investigate the major issues facing the recapitalisation of the energy generation industry and the impact of interactions between fuel sources and technologies inclusive of all economic, social and environmental dimensions.
